The blessing of having no ego

The blessing of having no ego is that we are free from the unjust criticism of others. The minute we are conscious of our spiritual stature, we are in the flesh, not the Spirit; for self-consciousness has it’s roots in self-righteoousness.

We should be content with Christ, but never our progress in Christ. All true holiness is the unconscious result of being rightly related to Jesus.

The more we look for the fruit, the less there is, and the less there is the more we look; until we’ve sunk into a black hole of morose introspection.

If we would but keep our gaze fixed on the Vine, we’ll have no time to polish His ‘fruit’. Any time the Vine produces fruit through the branch, the branch is often the last one to notice, if at all; because of his preoccupation with the life-giving Vine.

We must beware of taking ourselves too seriously. ‘For he who thinks he is something when he is nothing deceives himself.’ Live among men as knowing nothing among them but the cross of Christ; a dead man cannot be insulted.
